They used 3 EMS Synthi “Portabella” briefcase synths & two reel-to-reel tape machines as a delay line. Their live shows combined psychedelic electronic music with a mind blowing lightshow. Appearing at Stonehenge and other early free festivals, those who saw them play never forgot the experience. It was only marked “For Local Affiliates – From your Friends at the Club Vegas” – My assumption is that these promotional videos were made by a music production facility to promote the artists on locally-produced music shows. I really have no idea as to the true origin or specific year!

Two reels which I decided to play slightly slower than normal and to a rather funky beat. I originally recorded this set of tunes in late 2003 and they still sound quite fresh. I used a ‘fishman pre-amp and piezo pick up’, on an old French violin which was given to me by a neighbour. The first tune is called Cooley’s Reel and was composed by a well known Irish box player called Joe Cooley. The second tune is normally played in a higher key, but on my version I chose to play the Musical Priest in a lower key and in a slightly more folk rock way. I hope you enjoy this track and the few photos’ I took when I visited Northumberland on holiday.

This is a very nice machine I got from amberola1b, a YouTuber. Thank you! This machine did NOT have a bad bias transistor, but rather a bad 4uF capacitor in the bias circuit. For anyone who comes across this model and it will not record, or records with great distortion (the biasless sound), replace the light yellow 4uF capacitor in the bias circuit. It is likely the problem.
