Here’s another of the R2R units I have and will be letting go soon. I think most anyone that knows about recording equipment knows who Fostex is and the quality they bring into recording, this one is no different, it’s a fantastic deck. I really never used this to much as I did most of my mixdowns on to one of my quad decks, the result is this still looks almost new and plays/records excellent. If a person is wondering about this Model then you can see some of it’s basic functions here but it does a lot more then the video shows. The audio is not that great as it’s just from my camcorder mic, like other videos, I did clean it up a bit. I did some editing on the video as it was over 500meg so I needed to get that size and length down.

Chehon was born in Chicago, IL and raised in Sydney, Australia and Zurich, Switzerland. This video is pretty much a restoration of a concord 994 portable reel to reel, in the process of restoring, was one of their best at the time, even features autoreverse and is a hybrid tube and transistor, uses a pair of 6BQ5′s and a 12BH7-A for driver stage, the preamp and record stage is transistors. Am going to do a full restoration, clean contacts replaced capacitors drive and counter belts and relube whole transort and clean and rejuvenate rubber. Does actually fully work now, just noisy due to loose drive belt, after minor repair was done. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RESTORE OR REPAIR YOUR REEL TO REEL YOURSELF! There is lethal voltage present, even unplug, as capacitors are usually fully charged.

This film has been rejected by four film festivals including Southern Appalachian International Film Festival in Kingsport, TN, Atlanta Shorts Festival, Atlanta Documentary Festival and the Reel-to-Reel Festival near Charlotte, NC
