Born in Paraguay to a Paraguayan mother, her father was a United States citizen, having relocated the family to Clarksburg, West Virginia immediately after Taylor was born. When Taylor was eight years old, her parents divorced, and she and her mother moved back to Paraguay, where she would reside for the next ten years. In 1997 she was discovered by a small agency in Miami where she met Jesus Roman who started her career. A year later Jesus Roman left the agency to pursue a career as a photographer and Cindy Taylor switched agencies and signed with Irene Marie Models. She was soon part of advertising and fashion campaigns for Guess Jeans, Pantene, Parasuco, Perry Ellis, Rampage, and Frito Lays. Cindy soon became known as a cover girl, gracing the fronts of Esquire, Ocean Drive, Shape Magazine, Loft Magazine, Men’s Journal, Vanidades, Glamour, and more. Cindy was cast as the host of Wild On!, a popular travel series on the E! Entertainment Television channel, replacing Brooke Burke in 2002. In 2005, Taylor shot a cameo role in the Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams romantic comedy The Wedding Crashers. That same year, Cindy landed a supporting role in the independent feature film Descansos, opposite Gary Busey and Charles Durning.
