Akai GX-215D RtR Demo.wmv
Akai GX-215D Reel to Reel is a 3 head, 2 speed (3 3/4 & 7 1/2 ips), 3 motor with Glass X’TAL Ferrite Head This particular unit has had the main drive motor cleaned and lubricated. Pots and switches have been cleaned as have the pinch roller and full tape path. Tape heads have been cleaned and demagnetized. All features have been fully tested with the exception of the front mic inputs. Playback and record levels appear to be rock solid. Tape speed is locked in and playback is superb on both 3 3/4 & 7 1/2 IPS speeds. Inputs and outputs are good too. The demonstration of the GX-215D was played through a Pioneer VSX-1015TXK A/V Receiver in 2.1 Stereo Mode. The speakers consist of one pair of modified IM Fried Fried Signature Series Q/3 Speakers with bass support from an M&K VX-1250 Sub-woofer crossed @ 80 Hz. The Fried speakers have been modified. The original tweeters were replaced by a pair of Philips 25mm soft dome tweeters. Audio source for recording is a Philips portable CD player. All video and audio has been captured using a Panasonic 3CCD Standard Definition video camera. The audio may appear to be slightly louder in the right channel (as it should be) due to the fact that the camera and Akai deck were positioned slightly left of the left channel. Video has been edited using Windows Movie Maker.

Sony TC-654-4 Quad Reel to Reel 4 Channel Working Great
Here’s another piece of quad equipment I have. I had this reel2reel gone through several months ago to get it back to specs and it works great now. I used it for a month after I got it back from the shop to make sure it would stay running and had no problems. The tape in the demo here is a four channel tape and I pumped it through my Pioneer QX-9900 quad receiver. I have 6 Quad r2r decks so I’ll be selling this one sometime in the future. When I do sell it I’ll include the tape here PF:DSOTM in quad and also a tape of CCR Gold in quad.
Swing song playing on reel to reel tape deck.MOV
This is a Swing song that I like from the 1940′s. This is playing on my reel to reel deck. The deck is a Pioneer RT-1020L quad capable deck. If anyone knows the name or artist please let me know. I am playing a home made tape that I purchased with no song list. I liked the songs so I will be posting them here.

My now vintage stereo equipment in my living room
Its true. I have a difficult time parting with things and I tend to cling to the past. I tend to be a junque collector and have a hoard of stuff that clutters my home. The stereo equipment in this video is the first good stereo equipment I was able to afford at the time. I bought most of it in the 1970s and some in the early 1980s. This equipment is not what one could call top shelf or true audiophile gear that members of the fat wallet club buy but it is good- stereo equipment. I have received a lot of enjoyment from this equipment and I still do today.
