I have never thought much of these Ferrographs but this one is special this was modified by Ferrograph for the BBC, I was amazed to hear how much top end this recorder had at such a low speed of 3.3/4, the response was very constant on 7.1/2 and 15 ips as well.

This video will show you how to create a tape-loop. As sound sample I used “Money” from “Pink Floyds” album “Dark side of the moon”. Dieses Video zeigt wie man eine Endlosschleife mit einem Tonband herstellt. Als Soundbeispiel habe ich das charakteristische Kassengeräusch aus dem Album “Dark Side Of The Moon” von Pink Floyd verwendet. Genau so wie im Video, haben Pink Floyd damals auch diesen Sound erzeugt. Sie verwendeten sogar auch die ReVox A77 Tonbandmaschine dafür…

Studer for sale .. nice example .. SUPER CLEAN … 4 speeds , 2-pole motor , build in speaker , per channel calibration and monitoring, 3 rewind speeds, mint butterfly heads , meter VU are working with bulbs , NAB CCIR switch in case you need for tape project tapes , perfect tape layers on playback and rewind … last serviced at FILMCO HI END audio shop in 2007 … super recorder !!!

This is Studers last analogue 2 track machine, these recorders came in multi tracks and in digital formats, though thousands of these were made, they are very hard to track down.

Demo of my AEG K8 Magnetophon playing Flat Foot Sam by Elmon Mickle (a very rare Elko blues 45rpm by the way). This rare machine is in great working order and uses German Telefunken vacuum tubes (EF12, EF14 etc.). It runs at 76cm/s (30ips) and is full track mono. I’m looking for old AEG Magnetophon machines, if you have one please let me know.
