  • Bronwen Eats Forbidden Fruit says:

Live acoustic guitar–"A Long December" by Counting Crows, played for me by my nephew on his guitar

Mp3 player–The Police 4-disc box set–whole thing, soup to nuts, while on a long plane trip

Cassette tape–"Mysteries of Egypt" soundtrack (a National Geographic film)

Record player–The Grateful Dead (no idea what it was–it was something my friend’s husband was listening to, and I don’t like them much)

Cell phone–"I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack, I think. (I don’t listen to C&W, a girl at the salon I go to wanted me to hear the song, and she had it on her phone–it was actually quite a nice song, for what it was…)

Reel to Reel–"Fiddler On the Roof" original Broadway cast recording (it was the Saturday morning soundtrack of my childhood–my Dad turned it on promptly at 7:30 am every damn Saturday morning, because he loved it–it’s also where I first heard all the Rat Pack stuff, Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, and other greats. Also, the sound quality is amazing, but then my dad spent a huge chunk of money on toys like stereos…)

CD player–"Heartbeat" by Riyuichi Sakamoto (same track over and over on my clock/radio/CD player–I couldn’t sleep and that’s one of my go to sleep songs on a disc I burned for myself)

Gramophone–a scratchy old 78 of someone singing "Ave Maria" (no idea on who the mystery voice was, other than that it was female)

Piano–"Smoke Gets in Your Eyes" by myself, dinking around one night on the piano while bored

YouTube–"M" by The Cure–there’s a great live studio version on there

8 track–"La Boheme" in my long-deceased uncle’s El Camino, blaring so hard the vehicle was shaking (back when he was alive, obviously)
